P5 had the opportunity to visit two working farms today as part of their World Around Us topic. On the first farm, we saw lots of cattle in the farm outbuildings and even saw a day old calf. After seeing the cattle, we went into the hen houses.
We even got a glimpse inside the hen houses but unfortunately we couldn't count how many hens there were! We got a quick snack before heading off to the second farm. Here, we met Peter the vet along with the farm owners. We were very fortunate to see baby chicks that were 5 days old before looking at the baby calves. We learnt all about the milking cows and how the milk is collected in the milking parlour. We had a really enjoyable trip and would like to thank both farms for welcoming us so warmly this morning.
