We were delighted to be invited once again to this year's Doire Treasc Fir an Chnoic Festival of Football for the local Primary Schools in our area.
The competition had a great format ensuring lots of football for the 6 schools involved Kingsisland, Annaghmore, Primate Dixon, Brocagh, Gael Scoil and Edendork.
With each school playing each other once in the group games, Kingsisland and Edendork topped the table and made it through to the grand Final.
The final was a very tight affair with end to end attacking football. Jonathan Blair bagged a goal and a two points, James McCann, Cameron O'Neill and Henry Taggart dominated the middle of the field, and Conor, Ronan and Brendan were rock solid in defence.
A special mention to Dáire Robinson who was also outstanding in nets with 100% success in his distribution in the final.
In the end the Kingsisland boys battled from behind in the second half to claim the Cup for a second year in a row with a few points to spare. But all in all it was a real squad effort from game 1 until the finish, with every lad making a valuable contribution.
